 As a Pellet Mill Operator, you will play a key role in producing high-quality pelleted livestock feed while ensuring equipment is operated safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Operate and monitor pellet mill equipment to produce high-quality pelleted livestock feed.
  • Set up, adjust, and monitor pellet mill equipment to maintain production efficiency and product quality.
  • Monitor steam, temperature, moisture, and die performance to ensure optimal pellet quality.
  • Inspect equipment and identify mechanical issues or abnormalities requiring attention.
  • Receive and handle raw ingredients as required.
  • Operate computerized automation systems used in feed production and ingredient receiving.
  • Work collaboratively with other operators to maintain production efficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
  • Follow all company safety, quality assurance, HACCP, and food safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous manufacturing or pellet mill experience is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of agriculture, livestock production, or the feed industry is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Comfortable using computerized production and automation systems.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective team player with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, climbing stairs, and working in a manufacturing environment.
